1985 club car is very loud and fuel pump
Hi,
My 1985 club car has the origional stock kawasaki kf82 engine and muffler. But it's louder than all the other carts where we have it. People can hear me coming from almost a block away. I have checked the manifold and muffler to see if there are any holes in it but have not found any. Are there baffles inside that might have rusted out? I also have an electric fuel pump and not a pulse one. Did these carts come with electirc ones? I have thougt about rebuilding it, but when I search, all I see are kits for the pulse type fuel pumps. |

Are the other carts as old? Could be your comparing it to newer models. I'm sure over time they improved them.

my guess would be, burned out muffler,or hole where you cant see it. My cc is a 90 it has a pulse pump, maybe someone put the electric pump on there.

Shadow man,
Thanks for the reply. Would the muffler have baffles inside and matybe those are blown? A new oem muffler is not a cheap part. I know the cart was on a golf course for a few years then retired and the family that owned it used it a lot then let it sit for a few years in a cart garage. Jim |

So is there a way to check to see if thge baffles have been burned out? That's a pretty expensive part.
By the waty it does have the stock fuel pump. I may rebuild it this winter. |
