Posting a pic of the reinforcment plate I made. Highly recommend it to keep your crossmember from cracking.

Good idea, that will help reduce the twisting on the cross member.

Well I didn't make the brace and it started tearing the original mounts off the tube. I welded it all back up drove it into the back yard and it ripped the tube right next to where I welded it. Now I get to make a whole new cross member. Seems like we need to change "highly recommend" to NEED TO or HAVE TO.

Depending on the condition of the original cross member, replacing it with new steel is the way to go. It's much stronger all the way around.

No doubt. I get to do it twice. I'm going to do it on my other G2 I'm building for sand might as well do it now and get it out of the way.

Thanks for the link, I just ordered what I need to build a 4" lift for my G1. Some pieces they cut to size for less than a buck and a half and saved me a hour drive.
