home made IFS
Third times a charm re fabing this front suspension. i bought my lift before ever even hearing about the jakes long travel and no longer haveing the money to sink in to my cart(thanks wife and kids) i had to impromise. after first getting rid of the rough riding leaf that came with the kit i'm on my second set of coil overs and finally got it right. turned my 0 inches of articulation into about 10" not to mention the confy ride. a nice soft suspension is perfect for the rocky tennessee trails.

Got any more pics....... up close & personal?
What coil overs are you using? What are some things you learned along the way that would be nice to pass on to someone else facing a DIY suspension fabrication? |

Re: home made IFS
well i started with the allsport 8" lift. it came with everything for the front and hd springs and blocks for rear. the first thing i did was went back to the stock springs in the rear w/ the helper springs from the hd pack. the springs they sent me for the rear would of been 2 stiff for a 400lbs. man on the rear seat. next i got rid of the leaf spring in the front. rode awfully rough and was not independent. the first coil over setup i had was from a kawasaki bayou . softened the ride greatly and made front independent but wasn't enough travel. the coil overs i have now are about 18" fully extended, they have about 8" of travel on each side. just enough so the tires won't scrape the body. going on vacation i will post some closer pics when i get back if your still interested.

Re: home made IFS
Looks good! I decided to go with the Super Sport Lift Kit 6.0” part # ASM-CLKSSB6. I wish I would have done more research before I made my purchase. I have not driven it yet, but I can tell you it’s going to ride like a lumber wagon. At rest where does the cart set in its full up and down travel? I am trying to figure out what shocks I need also. What coil over shocks did you go with?
