Rear Springs
Ok guys I'm a little slow to get started but i like to have plan before I start a project, and that brings me to my question. Has anyone ever used the rear springs for a carry all on there lifted cart? I already have the AllSports 6" A arm lift kit and getting ready to install it but my project is a complete rebuild so I'm not in a hurry. I am researching rear springs and all I have found other than stock is the 4 leaf spring, and from what I have heard they are too stiff. The carryall springs are either 2 or 3 springs instead of the 4. What is everyone using?

Re: Rear Springs
I have used stock springs to double up. Cut the ends off and make a keeper..
will see if I can find a pic... |

Re: Rear Springs
Please do. I'm not sure I understand what you did but I know that I don't want a single leaf and from what I have read I don't want 4 leafs.

Re: Rear Springs
PIcs of an old set of springs with ends cut off and used to double the stock set ..... must have keepers to keep from splaying open like fingers. Keepers not to be tight as movement between the springs is needed .... hope this helps

Re: Rear Springs
I did the same as Scotty but have been to lazy to make the keeper, so far no problems, I was amazed at how much it lifted it.
The 4 leaf springs I have seen the main spring is much thicker than the stock spring. I wouldn't hesitate to pull 2 or 3 of them out and that would probably still be plenty ample |

Re: Rear Springs
Both are very good ideas. Mark, you will have to try one or the other and see what works, springs and suspensions are a science of their own and every ones backs side has its own mind. You can try Scottys idea without the keepers and see if it is what you want. If to stiff shorten the helper leaf and try again.

Re: Rear Springs
I have the HD rear spings and they are fine with two or more people or a load on the back. It will **** near bounce you out of the seat when you are on it by yourself, though.

Re: Rear Springs
I have the 4 leaf setup on my cart and had to install 4 point race harnesses to hold my A$$ on the cart while wheeling. Get in, Put the seatbelt on, Shut up, And HOLD ON
