Carb Linkage
I am working on a 2007 ezgo 480 workhorse.I am attempting to adjust the throttle linkage, as when I attempt to stop this cart it wants to keep running.
There is a issue with the micro switch that I am aware of,but that is not my current problem. I have been working on this for several hours and I think I have found the problem but I am unsure of how to correct. This is a 16 HP vanguard motor.I have noticed lately that the RPM at idle keeps creeping higher and higher. I pulled off the breather so I could see the linkage and possibliy make an adjustment.I found that the short arm opening the throttle is not returning all the way back to the full stop position.I also found the the small cylinder at the end of the cable that is to go into a round hole between the two sides of the short arm on the throttle is not seating properly, and is cocked to one side. I can fix that, however what I am not sure about is how I can pull this short arm back into the full return stop.If I push on it, it will return to the stop, but only when I push on it.I cannot see where there is anything missing such as a spring. As it stands now when I pull up to stop the cart it will keep pulling as the RPMs are high enough to engage the clutches. Has anybody else encountered this issue, and if so what do I need to do the correct it? Reggie P.S. great site,I read some every night. |
