Sounds like a bad controller. But it could also be a motor with shot brushes. Do a motor only test. Wheels off the ground, Connect F1 to A1, F2 to A2, apply 12 - 16V and see if the motor turns. (disconnect battery before fooling with motor connections!)

Dead motor. Pull the motor and disassemble. It might be savable with new brushes and a clean up on the commutator.

Thanks for the help one more question is the solenoid not "clicking" directly related to a bad motor or do I have something else going on?

Hard to tell - but if the motor failed the test, it needs to come out. Failed motor often also causes the controller to fail. I have two G29's (2009 and 2012) and neither has it's original motor or controller. The Hitachi motors are not very robust and brushes fail in a few years of heavy use. The Moric controllers fail fairly often.

If you decide to replace motor / controller don't go with the stock Yamaha replacements. Go aftermarket. I would recommend Alltrax for controller and D&D motor. You might instead consider going AC drive but I don't have any experience with that. AC drive is the thing now - no brushes to wear out and lots of torque and speed. Maybe someone else will chime in here about AC options.
