Default Hooking accessories to key switch????

I have installed a radio to my 2004 txt. I want the radio only to work when key is on. My problem is when I hit the gas pedal the radio losing voltage. It's not getting over voltage. As soon as the solenoid is engaged I lose the 12 volts. Radio has 0 volts. I have installed radio and lights on yamaha and club cars before. And never had this problem. Is it a starter problem or solenoid. Is there some different method with ezgo wiring? Thanks.

This is how ezgo’s are wired. Yamaha and club car run power to the key switch first, and then to the pedal microswitch, and then to the solenoid.

Ezgo is backwards. They run power to the pedal microswitch first, then to the key switch, then to the solenoid. The key switch ONLY has power when the pedal is depressed. You just need to rewire it so it goes to the key switch first, then M/S, then solenoid. It won’t hurt anything this way it’s just changing the order of things. I’ve done it several times, works great.

You will still need to use a relay from the key switch to power the radio, you don’t want all the radio’s current running through that key switch. It’s not meant for that.

I’ve posted before how. Takes 10 minutes takes longer to type it than to do it
