Club Car 36v to 48v conversion
What would be a good ballpark guess on cost to convert a 36v ClubCar to a 48v. Speed of 16 to 20 mph is fine, torque is important or just sell the $400 36v and buy a used CC that is already 48v?
Thanks, Doug |

Re: Club Car 36v to 48v conversion
The thing is that a 36v cart running on 48v will out perform most any 48v cart.
I never heard anybody say that they wish they never went from 36 to 48v on their cart. I have read a lot of threads from disappointed 48v cart owners - in fact the worse performing carts I ever bought was a couple of 95 48v CC. They were dogs |

Re: Club Car 36v to 48v conversion
Not meaning to take away from the OP but why does a 36v to 48v conversion out perform a 48v cart Scott? I've got a mid 80's CC that I'm going to work on next after my ezgo and I've been toying with the idea of doing the conversion to it.

Re: Club Car 36v to 48v conversion
A 36v motor cart will run about 12mph stock. When you apply 48v it will run 33% faster with 33% more torque. This will get you to about 16mph on stock tires and if you take advantage of the increased torque with bigger tires (22-23") you will run out at 18-19mph. This is very respectable speed for a series cart and will allow you to drive circles around most 48v cart.

Hey cool, thanks guys. I will for sure be upgrading then. It does make you wonder then why buy a newer cart, it seems better to buy an older cart and upgrading it. Its probably cheaper too.
