Default '99 stopped in motion

Hello,

I was wondering if you could help me with some motor consulting. I have a 1999 36v resistor club car. It has a ge motor and stopped running while in motion. Using the service manual, all tests checked out except for the stator check. The service manual states to disconnect the batteries and test for continuity between battery post 6 and brown wire at F/R switch. Of coarse this can’t be so I connected the batteries and showed NO continuity.
The brushes and springs are good and no evidence of shorts. Jumping the terminals will run the motor. The switches - key,throttle,f&r,v-glide, and solenoid are testing good and get 37 volts to motor. Batteries are charged and good. Completely stumped...please help
