Default Grinding noise when hard braking

I have a 2011 g29 electric cart. Have a wet brake system. On a hard brake, I get a grinding noise. I just changed the brake cable. (Was bad anyways), I have plenty of fluid in gear case. My next move is to change the oil. Is this common or something else going bad?

Change the oil, and leave the plug out for a while for the goop to drip out. Then we'll see what's left of the brakes.

Is it quite the process to look or even change the brakes?

Drained the oil. No particles but it was thicker then syrup.

Be sure to replace the gear oil with an oil for use with limited slip, and adding 2 ounces of friction modifier wouldn't hurt either.

Changed to oil, and put in the additives. I'm thinking it's not the brakes but maybe a gear or something. It's not a bearing. Jacked it up and ran it several times on a hard brake and hard acceleration, no noise. So it only makes the noise when there is weight on it.
