Default Help Powering Accessories

I have a horn and headlights and tail light hooked up to my cart now. I have plans to add a radio, under body LED's, a LED light bar and 2 LED lights facing the rear. (everything will have a witch to kill power when not being use)

I was planing on hooking a reducer from ScottyB and running everything though a fuse box off of the 36v from my cart but i have seen people add a extra 12 volt batttery. My question is how would you chrge the 12 volt battery like you do the cart for repeated use?

What is a better way to power everything? Is one better then the other. if so could you please direcet me to a thread with more info on it or maybe even a thread explaining how to set up something?

Thank you.

i myself run the aux battery with the solar charger
i have hooked up the reducer to a cart and it does great
i run LED emergency lights & led headlights/tail lights every night off the aux battery i hook up the solar charger every 3-4 days ..
i don't like the idea of running the reducer and draining my pack faster ... i drive 10-12 miles a night

Thats what im worried about as well. How do did you set up the 12 volt battery with the solar charger if you dont mind me asking.

I would rather have an extra battery but I have no idea how to charge it. :/

By his 2nd diagram, it looks to me that an adapter is used for the solar charger, and fan,
and just plugs it in to the 12V (cigarette) power outlet! and the charger charges the battery that way!

Does it have to be a solar charger? I charge my 12v with a regular battery charger that I have set up next to the DPI. Like crash with his solar,, every few days I put a trickle charge and that has worked fine since March..

This is a popular solar thread though. Ryan T and Seth are working it out..

One thing I've found with those types of solar chargers that just plug into your outlet or wire directly to your battery if your not careful about when you hook it up, for how long and the output of the panel they can cook a battery. With low battery usage and a panel rated for less then 2% of battery amperage your probably fine, but I fried the battery in my hunting dually that I drive once every couple months with a 10W panel leaving it hooked up. It overcharged the battery and cooked all the electrolyte out in 2 months damaging the plates and costing me $125. You can get a cheap $20 PWM controller from tmart.com, ebay or similar places that will prevent that from happening.
