high speed gears
Hello, we have a 2001 club car with a 6" lift kit and 22" tires. I was thinking about putting a set of 8-1 gears in it. is that advisable with the lift kit and tires???? will do have some small hills were we camp and I don't want to loose all the low end power.
thanks Jim |

Re: high speed gears
Hi jim,
I have a 2001 ez go with 24hp honda,24" tires, 8:1 rear axel ratio. Buggy will go over 40 and no trouble climbing steep hills. The big thing is that you have a 10" driven clutch. I have 10" driven and a stock ez go driver clutches. I think maybe a power spring has been installed in driven clutch to hold it in low from 1500-4000 rpm, then shifts to high range. I have all governors removed from axel and motor. jeff |
