Altrax 500 programming
I have a RoyPow battery that overheats if I run WOT for to long, so I want to limit the output of my controller to prevent the battery manager from shutting down to protect battery.
I connected cable to controller and laptop, but the Altrax program says it does not find controller. Every video I have found only shows bench hookup to program controller. Can a controller be adjusted after it is installed in cart? |

Yes, you can program the Alltrax in the cart at any time. The Alltrax Toolkit software works with Win 64 bit systems only.

Re: Altrax 500 programming
The setting you want to change is Maximum Battery Amperage on the opening page (controller tab). Set this max at the battery limit or a little less.

Re: Altrax 500 programming
My first attempt was the old laptop no. 1 with Win XP32, which according to Alltrax dosn't work. Attempt no. 2 was my favorite old Linux laptop with the wine software, which unfortunately dosn't support the usb connection

Re: Altrax 500 programming
I tried my old 7 pro laptop first, when it would not find controller I tried my newer windows 10 laptop same results.
Sounds like I need newer software for this computer. |

Re: Altrax 500 programming
The software you are using depends on which Alltrax you have. All are available from them.

Re: Altrax 500 programming
The "new" software should provide power to the controller. Try placing your cart in "neutral" then hit the go peddle....then power is provided to your controller. Your should see the green light on the controller come on when you are trying to change the controller's values.

Re: Altrax 500 programming
New Windows 10 computer microsoft will not allow software download unless from it's app store.
Old Windows 7 Pro says can't find controller. I will keep trying to figure something out. |
