New ICON I40L First thoughts
I will start with this is my first golf cart i have ever owned. I have driven plenty but this is new.
We received our new cart on June 30th and as of this morning we have already put 130 miles on this cart. Driving close to 20 miles per day. We did not get lithium batteries but we did get the 8 6 volt battery option i do not know what brand. Thanks to ATrain for his help with the software loading tutorial and after many attempts i got it loaded. I had just about everything working except for the driver issue for the Canbus device when the cart arrived. So since Wednesday i have installed the spacers, reprogramed the controller, EcoXGear tube with custom mount, rock lights that tie into the brake lights so they light up red while breaking, and the ever so uncomfortable headlight adjustment. The cart now shows on the speedometer 34 with flashes of 35 on flat ground. I do have a STEEP hill to travel up and down. Down hill speeds approach 40 if you keep the GO pedal pinned. Not recommended SCARRY. It also has the 5kw motor and larger controller But what a great way to get around the neighborhood Loving our new ICON |

You said that you have the 5kw motor and larger controller? Did you have to upgrade that when you ordered it?

No. I think in the newer carts they are using this setup. Not sure but this is in California with more hills

Just got the same sound bar for my 40 and want to mount in the same spot as you...what type of metal is that you used to mount? How long, thick and wide?

How did you get the cable out of the bottom of the pole?

I'm curious too as I'd like to run wires up those poles for lights. It seems like I'll have to drill a hole in the bottom.

Curious how you're getting 40 mph downhill, as the 5kw i40Ls have a hard rev limit of 7,200 rpm which equals 33 mph with 23" tires. My 2022 i40L hits 33mph on flats, and downhill bumps up against the rev limiter at 33 and roughly keeps it from going faster.
Have you checked your speedometer against a GPS smartphone app speedometer? You've either got a unicorn cart or they've changed something in the last few months. |

I was under the cart tonight and I did some exploring. It turns out there is ~3/8" hole at the bottom of those vertical supports. I was able to fish a wire up the pole to the top where it stopped. We'll have to drill a hole in the support or the plastic cap for the wire to get out.
