2004 ezgo 36volt
I fully charged batteries but when I use cart it takes off then the power decreases it won't go up a slight incline. Is the motor bad or regulator?

Re: 2004 ezgo 36volt
Is there water in the batteries?
Do you have / operate a VOM? Sounds like you're running out of juice! Check voltage (total) after charge and again after it dies. 38v+ charged, 36V or below won't power the cart. If you read 34,35 or lower you may need a new pack or battery. Bad connections/ cables will affect true readings. Clean them first or replace as needed. If they are original batts, they are 5 years old. that's about all they get. Last edited by tonyton; 05-24-2009 at 05:49 PM.. Reason: batt age |

I checked water after full charge. Should I buy trojan batteries again?

Re: 2004 ezgo 36volt
TROJAN batteries are the best I have found. I base this on 12 years as a golf course operator/owner. Cheaper brands don't seem to last as long, and the manufacturers puts them in all golf carts (OEM)
Batts are 85.00-100.00ea. for trojans. Find a local trojan dealer as shipping is not possible/ cost efficient due to hazmat. Install new 4ga cables if installing new batts and clean other fittings. Trojans have the year of man. stamped (letter-number) on the negative terminal. Verify the age and test before replacing. Hope that helps. tony |

Re: 2004 ezgo 36volt
they were like 70 a piece right around 500 for all of them but if you bring in your old ones they give you like 10 a piece for them so around 440 total
