Default G2 motormounts

has anyone made solid or welded there motor mounts? I replaced mine in '09 and the rears are gone again, i think it's because of the lift making the engine want to slide down, i made shure the cable on the front one was snug, but the rears still pulled in two,

I just installed a clone 16hp on stock mounts, we will see. Some or all of the cradles for big blocks do away with the mounts, though a v twin might run smoother. It would be pretty easy to weld a piece over the mounts or otherwise replace them.

I believe when mine break again, I will just be welding them up. I don't feel like buying them again. I bought them when I just got the car and didn't know any better. Now knowing what I (believe I know), I will weld them solid! At least till Block or GP or somebody comes in here and tells me not to. Sprid has his solid I believe!

Interesting question, I like saying that With the engine tensinor on and adjusted correctly, why would the motor mounts break in such a short period of time? Where they aftermarket or OEM Yamaha parts? I dont see why solid mounting would hurt, other then vibration. I'd more inclined to use later model Yamaha or ClubCar motor mounts then welding them solid, but I'm allway's trying to reinvent the wheel Let us know what you decide to do and how it reacts.

Are they more firm, and will they fit our swing arm mounts?

Mine are about a year and a half old, and close to 1500 MI. so, they seem to be holding up well at this point.
