Question new to here, have a few questions

Hello everyone!
I am new to here, and have a few questions. I have an '07 Yamaha Drive Gas cart. I am interested in finding out what modifications are available. The cart is completly stock, with the exception of tires/wheels. I put some low profile 10" tires/wheels on. It's black and shiny! I use it for golfing only at a pretty hilly course that I belong to. My main interest is finding a way to improve the engine's performance. It's kinda doggy, and I would like a little more zip. I've owned several Yamaha atv's, and am fairly mechanical.
Should I adjust the governor? I see that I can buy a higher gear ratioe gear set, but am concerned about the climbing ability.
What about a K&N air filter?
Aftermarket exhaust?
Where do I shop for these things?
Any help/suggestions you could give would be most appreciated!

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum whaffner!

Higher gears I believe will kill performance on the hills.

kinda funny. I've had tons of replies to my new introduction thread, but very few to this one.
Someone please explain the mechanics of the governor set up on this '07 Drive. Apparantly there is an adjusting nut on the rear differential that will allow higher higher rpm's??

I don't know much about the Drive, but if there is an adjustment on the diff, tighten it up and it will improve your speed.

Get us a pic. of the governor on your cart and we can probably explain it better. I've never seen this setup on an 07 Drive.

I ordered a speed spring yesterday. According to Cart Parts Plus, the Drive is the same as a G22. Apparantly, the govorner is located on the rear differential housing. So I'll start teking the cart apart untill I find it. Doesn't sound like too maijor of a deal. I don't know if my cart has a rev limiter or not, guess I'll find out! If the spring makes a big difference, I'll then consider intake and exhaust modifications.
