97 club car- voltage question
ok, just finished up rewiring a 97 club car DS, 48V, series motor. finally got everything to work right. i think. cart was butchered when i got it, lots of splices, sloppy wiring. added HD f&r switch, alltrax controller, heavy duty solenoid. after i turn off the keyswitch (new) i still read a voltage at the controller, and on the solenoid at the wire going to controller. when i turn the key on, you hear the solenoid close to make contact so its not staying open, and you hear it break when you shut the key off. keyswitch is a tractor style key switch. dont know if that matters? is this normal? i guess its my fault for not testing before i rewired to see if there was voltage prior to.... the controller flashes 7 times when you turn on the key, then goes to solid green. which the manual says is ready to run. it seems with voltage at controller it would drain batteries? or am i just being paranoid?
thanks for any input in advance |
