Default 48v to 36v motor?

If I were to put a 36v motor in my 48v CC, is it a simple motor swap or is anything else required?

I see folks around me on classifieds/facebook occasionally selling old carts (most not running or need batteries) and thought I might could pick up a cheap 36v.
Or would I be better off to save the money and buy an Admiral, D&D, etc.?

Also, what 36v years are compatible with mine. I have a 2002 DS Series that is stock with the exception of an Alltrax 400 controller

Pros/Cons?
