what can water do if the cart has been fully submerged?
Hurricane Irene. She's an evil woman who may have possibly killed my baby, but not known since i can't enter the campground for up to 2 weeks
well back to what this is about what kind of trouble could i be in if the golf cart has been fully submerged? hopefully she's covered under homeowner's insurance. thanks -jm5 |

OUCH! Rain water flooding or Salt water storm surge...pretty bad either way, but of course the salt would be WAY worse?

I'd say you'd probably need a new controller. Also if it were mine I would tear down everything else, ie. drive train, front hubs and bearings, steering and re-lube it.

thankfully it was only a freshwater river. we had to pull the trailer off the riverside halfway up the hill in my campground, and the bottom of my trailer got into the river. the cart was down the hill a few feet and i don't think she made it around the water.

If it's salt water, take everything electric off of it and run it into a fresh water lake for an hour then hose it down for an hour. After that buy stock in WD-40. Replace everything electric depending on if it's a controller cart or resistor. Fresh water basicly the same except for the lake. :-)

Y'all type faster than I do. WD-40 and send the motor to Plum Quick.

probably gonna take her home early once the waters recede and just work on her. i'm just exceedingly sad about how she was a whole winter's project for her to stop working.

Re: what can water do if the cart has been fully submerged?
I had an outboard on my center console get sunk in a fresh water lake for 5 hours. WD-40 is your freind. I forgot about the starter (your motor) and after a couple of months it messed in the bed. All I did was pull the plugs and turn it over a few times, drain the carbs, and give it fresh gas. 5 years later it purrs like a kitten. You're not hurt just look after the motor.
