Default quieting the briggs big block

Okay I finally got the briggs twin cylinder installed after weeks of not being able to work on it. I will post pictures when I get a new camera. It is very loud. I installed the original mufflers that it came with, ran them to the back of the cart and it's still too loud. I would like to get it close to the quietness as the original engine was. Any ideas would be appreciated. What about a muffler from a Suzuki RM250 or a Honda CR250?

Its called a big block for a reason! The motor itself is much louder than a stock motor so even if you baffle it down to try to quiet it (which I wouldn't) you have much more pure engine noise. If you have CCP's stock muffler- its tough to get much quieter than that. Pack a little steel wool in it might help- BUT YOU NEED TO LET THAT BAD BOY BREATH!

Clay,
Check out this thread,

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-e...-too-loud.html

I think a supertrap is the way to go. I have mine choked now to keep it kinda quiet. I can always open it up to breath better when I need the performance.

It effects the performance of the engine TREMENDOUSLY! However, when the "drunk taxi" wants to run through yards at 2 in the morning, I'm not getting phone calls in the morning
