wiring 1996 ezgo

New member same old problem, bought used cart, with 9 year old batteries with melted controller and the main B+ post melted off battery. I purchased relacement wiring, controller, solenoid and batteries from ezgo dealer locted 50 miles away. my problem is the replacement controller has 3 terminals and the old one has 4. the supplier stated I was to remove the wire from the C lug of the forward reverse control that originally went to the M terminal on the controller and discard. when I compared the wiring diagram (down loaded from this site) There were several major differences in the diagram i had drawn as i removed the old wiring, which may explain the melted controller. at this point all of my wires match the wiring diagram except for hooking up a wire to the ignition switch, the diagram tells me to put the red wire from the switch to pos terminal on battery, the switch has a blue & green that comes down to the f/r switch and no place for a positive wire that I can see. Am reluctant to burn up something else. can some one help-?
