Quick question about wiring 30A Veego reducer
The 30A reducer Scotty sells has two wires that go to the 48v source (yellow = +, black = -).
The green wire goes to switched key power, to turn the converter on/off. With the key off, I'm getting a very slight (few mA) draw, which may be the supply to the constant (blue) output. Although, I'm NOT using the blue wire, and it's capped off. Although it's a tiny draw, I'd like it to be 0. Anyone see a problem wiring both the green AND yellow to a key switched (using 30A relay) source, to make sure nothing goes to the converter unless key is on? |

Re: Quick question about wiring 30A Veego reducer
Voltage converters with a remote ON wire (with or without a constant 12V output) are never completely OFF unless one (or both) of the main feed wires from the battery pack is disconnected. In a nutshell a portion of the electronics has to be powered in order for it to be smart enough to turn on when a voltage is applied to the remote ON wire.
I see no reason why disconnecting one or both of the main feed wires from the battery pack with a contactor (high amp relay) wouldn't work. |
