Microswitches
How do the micro-switches play into the operation of a golf cart?

Re: Microswitches
Golf carts are machines while drivers are humans (most of the at least) and switches are part of the Human to Machine interface.
Micro-switches are but one of the many types of switches used by humans to tell golf carts what to do. |

Re: Microswitches
I think of them as both safety switches and trigger mechanisms.

Re: Microswitches
They tell the controller what position various things are in like the pedal and the Fwd/Rev switch. More modern carts usually only have one on the throttle to tell the controller that the pedal is being pushed. This activates the solenoid. Older carts with a high current Fwd/Rev switch use micro switches on that to tell the controller which position that big high current switch is in. Being small, they are also somewhat fragile.

Re: Microswitches
F&R switches also utilize them to shut the controller off in neutral so the operator can not shift direction with the motor running.

Re: Microswitches
Golf cart microswitches are there to tell you when you have gone "too far" with your pressure washer.

Re: Microswitches
Trying to understand the current flow in my carts and specifically the ones on the FR switch. Having trouble getting my cart moving and this is just one of the things I suppose I need to check. It's entirely possible that I've got the switch is wrong but I don't think so. Anyone have a thread saved that can show how to test them or tell me if it's a short process?
