Hunting gas cart build
For this project and my hunting/ riding around my land cart I have a choice between a club car precedent and the Yamaha g 16. I have a 1990 ds as well but it’s too rough for a reliable off road cart I wouldn’t feel comfortable throwing more money at it lol Any reason I should choise one over the other. I know the club car is aluminum frame but the g 16 will soon be powder coated and taken very good care of so I’m not too concerned with the rust issue. The club car is newer but both are in excellent shape. To me the g16 just “looks” to be a beefier and stronger cart for off road purpose. But the club car has a higher hp engine I believe. I don’t think I could go wrong either way. I’m really leaning g16 Yamaha Bc I can do very well will plowmans kit as far as power goes but I keep feeling that I should choose the newer cart. Haven’t had these long so I’m not sure which is more reliable and such. I must add I have decided on gas and not electric so please don’t say “just go electric for hunting” lol and I’m not attempting to get a “club car vs Yamaha” debate just curious on how these two individual carts stack up against each other. Anyone have both? Thank again to everyone for all the replies

Re: Hunting gas cart build
If you talk to Don Plowman of Plowman's carts, the "one true way" :) is with a Yamaha. He can sell you a few parts that will make a Yam scream like a scared child!! Plus he can set you up with a limited slip differential that really works well. (I have one in my EZ-GO TXT)
Power and posi traction for a hunting cart is, IMHO, key factors to having those machines work for you and make your day easier. |

Re: Hunting gas cart build
I chose Yamaha carts for the same reason, the beefy built steel tube frame. Mine is a 1984 G1, it's been off road for hundreds of miles, been very trusty. Of course I have an atv front suspension and a 23hp Vanguard engine. I'd recommend an engine upgrade as well as a Jakes LT front suspension.
