There's a promo video on the product. There is a notification for "Locked Carts Moved", this is possibly where you could get scrutinized. But just the fact they have the ability to lock out your cart in your own driveway, yea.. No thanks.

That would work but would still allow the club to track the cart at all times. The OP want the unit totally off unless hes at the club so hes not being tracked whilst hes not at the course.

I think it was a false alarm. I went out to the club today and the box was blinking even with having undone their blue/orange wires to the key switch. Which now that I think about Im not sure if it ever did blink when in my garage so maybe it only does that when its on the course or it couldnt get a signal through the garage not sure. Bottom line I think Im good. If the key switch was really how they were turning off the cart that wont happen anymore and to them it looks like everything is working. I have some switches coming in tomorrow I will put in to turn the whole thing off when I am not on club property.
