new 6" lift problems
Well i just installed a new 6" lift and hd rear leaf springs on my 04 ezgo cart. it looks good except when i stand behind it, it looks like the drivers side is leaning. i would think this is the common driver side lean, but i just replaced the rear springs. So what could it be and how could i fix it. thanks

Re: new 6" lift problems
Cumminz, just to check on the install and mounts....Are all spring mount bushings new? are all shackle mounts with out excessive wear or damage?
And the obvious....both sides installed the same? Did it sit like this before the spring change? |

Re: new 6" lift problems
Scotty brings up some good points
What kind of lift????? If it's a spindle lift your axle weldment may be bent could it be installed wrong? are your shackle bushing good? could it be the front springs? how much is it leaning? Is both front and rear on level ground? If it is the springs, you can swap sides on them. |

Re: new 6" lift problems
I can tell ya, i bought a new 08' st sport, and after about 5 miles of use, i think my drivers side sits a little lower now also. St sports come with factory 4" lift. All tires same psi.......

Measure the height from the same reference point on both sides Shadows can create optical illusions, so the trusty old stick of measuring would be a good starting place.... according to Murphy's law anyway Hope that didn't come out sounding rude.... just wanted to mention that looks can be deceiving... so to speak The shocks can be sticky on older cars ( not old, but older than the day before yesterday ). Lift up on the low side and let it resettle. If it levels, look for leaks around the shocks. If you are still not positive, drink another Capt. Morgan & Coke and see if that doesn't fix the problem |

Re: new 6" lift problems
yes i have measured. i put both rear sides on at same time. its a spimdle lift and it came with blocks, shackles, and shock extensions. when i put the lift on my rear brake cable on drivers side. was pulled tight. after installing lift i noticed it and took cable out of the holding bracket. this fixed the tight cable. but is there anyway it would have affected the height. also is there a front and rear to these rear springs. finally would it help to loosen everthing and retightin it, or could it be the factory front springs throughing it off

Re: new 6" lift problems
It could be the front springs, all you need to do to find out is swap sides with them. I don't think it matters which way you put on the rear springs, it should be the same no matter what. You can swap your brake backing plates to opposites sides so you change where the cables hook up on the axle, this should free up enough cable so you can mount it back in the holder without putting it in a bind.
