Re: Columbia Carb linkage, please help!
Using ohms law and using 16 volts with 4.5 ohms resistance you end up with 4 amps. So if you were to put a 4 amp fuse going to the coil and had a 500 volt spike with the same 4 ohms resistance you end up with 125 amps so a fuse leading to the coil could possibly work since it should blow the fuse.
20v, 4ohms = 5 amps 24v, 4ohms = 6 amps 28v, 4ohms = 7 amps 32v, 4ohms = 8 amps While the fuse may not protect you from a little higher voltage, it should blow with a 500 volts spike. Lochlin will probably have fun testing this theory!! One ballast resistor is all that is needed unless you just have to have two of them to make up the resistance. I dont see any difference where it is installed because the coil still has to ground out to fire the secondary circuit. |

Re: Columbia Carb linkage, please help!
I would throw the governor away and use a premix until I was sure things were working properly. I would probably do the same with the auto oiler.

Re: Columbia Carb linkage, please help!
How fast do these typically go without a governor?
