4 stroke
Looking to buying a cart. I think I need a gas model because I live in the country and will travel up to five mile one way to visit the inlaws. Question is, is a 4 stroke much quieter than a 2 stroke? What year and make would be my best bet for dependability? I want this to fix up, maybe 4"lift ect. Do you have to do anything to the engine when you lift and put bigger tires on? Any help from you people would be appreciated....Thanks

Re: 4 stroke
Welcome firstcart!
Gas is the way to go IMO. I live in the country too and some of the neighbors had electrics and ended up getting rid of them and going with gas. 4 strokes are quieter than the 2's plus you don't have to mix the oil and gas. Good luck finding your first project cart and post up some pics when you do! |

Also, you may want to post this question in one of the Gas sections found on the home page.
Good luck! |

Re: 4 stroke
Welcome to BGW!!
IMO, I would go with a 4 stroke, one of the big 3, Yamaha, Club car, Ez-go. Buy the latest model you can afford. No engine mods required for a lift and tires. |

Re: 4 stroke
Thanks guys, I thought this was a gas forum. Anyhow, How does the cheapest 4" lift ride and about how much do they cost? Or does it even make a difference what kind or how high you go for ride? I'm also interested in knowing about tire selection. Use will be road and off road, I don't want somthing that tears up the yard but some times their is a bit of mud in the woods. What has been a proven tire for all around use? Thanks a bunch for the fast replies......

Re: 4 stroke
I'm not seeing anything bad on my grass from them but I'm not doing any Joey Chitwood driving stunts either!
I like em! |
