Engine swap - 341 to FE290
I have an extra FE290 engine from my 04 precedent. How hard is it to put it in my DS that has a 341 engine?

Re: Engine swap - 341 to FE290
Couple things complicate it. An old cart that came with a 341cc is geared to run with a motor that runs counterclockwise at the drive clutch. All the KF82 341cc motors were counterclockwise. FE290s also ran counterclockwise...until 1997. From that point forward all the Kawasaki FE motors were oriented to run clockwise at the drive clutch.
Also, the throttle linkage is completely different, you'd have to figure that out as well. |

Re: Engine swap - 341 to FE290
Thanks for the reply.
I was unsure about the rotation of each engine but I am installing a HF 22hp engine in my limo and was thinking of using the FE290 in the older one. I'm sure where there's a will, there's a way. It's going to be another project to work on. |
