Nissan Leaf Battery Sources
Any suggestions on where to purchase quality Leaf modules? I'm looking for 14. EVBatteryCenter no longer has them and azlithium only has 7 and doesn't know when he'll get more. I've seen the techdirect and greentec options on ebay but don't feel very comfortable as to whether they are good modules or not.

Re: Nissan Leaf Battery Sources
Where are you located? There is a guy in the Houston area who had them for 70 bucks a module Gen 2.

I'm in FL, but I am in Houston at least once a month and don't mind shipping. or Driving instead of flying.

Re: Nissan Leaf Battery Sources
I just went down this road. I looked and looked. Finally, azlithium had some and I bought them right away. I am with you on the tec folks on eBay. They can't give you good info on the batteries. having looked for a month or so, here is what I'd recommend, and not necessarily in this order.
1 - Wait for azlithium to get more batteries. 2 - Buy a chevy volt set new with BMS already connected on eBay from lithium_batteries. 3 - Order from BobBoyce's source barbjb on eBay. Those are new batteries also. A little higher than options one and two, but I messaged him/her and got a decent quote. I'll try to find it. 4 - consider buying batteries on alibaba or aliexpress or even an entire pack from there (need to do research on the manufacturer before you do). 5 - buy prismatic batteries from a U.S. supplier, like electriccarpartscompany.com but that will run you about $125 a cell and you will probably need 16 instead of 14. 6 - go to Facebook and look at extreme lithium carts in Lafayette, Louisiana. They have a decent deal on used volt packs that are plug and play. I would have gone this route if azlithium hadn't come through. That's all I can think of right now. If I think of another way, I will let you know. |

Re: Nissan Leaf Battery Sources
I stumbled across this info tonight and I thought it might be helpful for someone looking for alternatives to Leaf cells.

Here is another potential source. They constantly get different types of batteries, lithium and others.
