G16 brake adjusters
I'm replacing the brakes on my G16 project cart and these adjusters are rusted, f'ed up and not useable. Are these available as separate parts from Yamaha? I can't find them...

Re: G16 brake adjusters
I looked them up on the parts fiche and it doesn't list them as a separate part. Only listed as the entire rear brake 115$ unit

Re: G16 brake adjusters
I don't see where they are messed up? its also very rare that they would be bad.. You may want to clean them up, looks like they are useable.

Re: G16 brake adjusters
Dave, I don't know what the rest of them look like, but can you soak them in something to loosen them, then, wire brush them with a small wire, wire brush? Thats what I did on Spot!! Mine waren't that bad, but it sure cleaned out the threads and made them adjust more easily. I scrubed mine in diesel, along with the brake plate (area that those parts fit into)!!
The G8 brake plate, that part slides back and forth in this pic. Don't know if a 16 is the same or not!!?? Aaa, then "Never Seize" of course!! |

Re: G16 brake adjusters
The 16 backing plates are similar, but different. The adjuster on the right was soaking all day and it won't budge. And whatever that black thing is on the tip, it's brittle and in pieces on the other one. These aren't gonna work.
