2015 club car subaru engine

Wasn't aware that Club Car used Subaru engines. What size is the engine? I've had 3 gas Club Cars over the years all of which had Kaw. motors. I never had any trouble with any of the motors however I always thought the motors, being rated at 9 hp., were a little down on power. I recently purchased a used 2017 EZGO valor model with the 13.5 hp Kaw. motor, a big difference over the 9 hp. motors.

Club car has used Subaru engines since 2015. Believe that Yamaha bought Subaru and forced Club car to switch to Kohler starting in 2020.

Those engines are branded Subaru, but they're manufactured by Robin. Not that there's anything wrong with a Robin, but they bought the licensing to the Subaru brand name for small engines and they produce them.

I am thinking of purchasing a 2016 gas club car. I assume it will be a Subaru/Robin motor. Are these motors more difficult to get parts for since they only used them in Club Car for 5 years?

I’ve got over 400hours on mine and have not done a thing other than oil changes so far.. I work for a cart shop also, and the only thing I’ve replaced on the carts with the Subaru is the fuel pump. And it’s only been on two carts in the last three years.. but yes parts are easily available still. And they are super easy to make fast is that’s your thing..

ffmedic1974 that’s the exact type of rear seat kit I’ve had in mind, but am not having any luck locating for a G16. Do you happen to know the manufacturer?
