Re: Anyone get their cart Florida Street Legal?
Can the windshield be a fold down type for street legal here (FL)?

Re: Anyone get their cart Florida Street Legal?
I believe it must be solid or everyone wouldn't be replacing theirs, unless it's the lexon? This a hold up for me, I really like the fold down....I guess get it legal and put your old windshield back on. That's what I'll end up doing.

Just got the windshield today and they sent me a hinged one! ****it! Anyone know for sure I can not use the hinged one? They got me the invoice that says DOT AS5... but I guess I never specified a solid one... and them being in the cart business never asked. |

Florida states this: "Windshield with a AS1 or AS5 composition." It doesn't say anything else. If you can get a shorty windshield approved like Cat Boat Racer's why not a windshield that's twice the size. The good news is that your receipt should say Lexan DOT AS5 Folding. It really is 1/4" Lexan and can meet AS5 requirements. So I'm going for it... drilling the hole for the wiper tonight. |

I also agree that I DON'T want a full windshield and that if I had to do a full for getting it certified I would remove it like everyone else has. We can always chip in 3 ways for a full and do the carts one at a time!

Hey Guys,
Unless Florida has some new weird law on the one piece, Manufacture says the flip will pass as it is 1/4" lexan AS5 and is shatterproof. |

I been busier than a 3 legged dog trying to bury a bone on a frozen lake. Still working on the new building. |
