![]() I'm converting an old Polaris Ranger EV to Nissan leaf cells. What charger are you guys using for those cells now? For the last buggy I purchased the cheap China charger from Hybrid Auto.
Thanks |

![]() Pretty much all you need, a cheap Chinese charger. One with adjustable constant current and constant voltage would be perfect. Set your own current and voltage.

![]() I had bad luck with those kungfu chargers. I was looking for some good reviews on one that will last a while. For my last buggy I ended up buying a Quick Charge. I may end up doing that again.

![]() Well.....back in 2018 I bought and installed a ElCon TC 1.8kw on board charger. I looked at my cost spreadsheet from then and I paid $300 for it. Now, it's been "bouncing" around in my cart and charging great since then. (That's almost 7 years now).
But it appears today those chargers are costing in a big range from $400 to $700!! YIKES!! Ali has one for $315.....if you trust Ali. |

![]() I use a DC bench power supply for various batteries, it's not fast, only 200-300 watts, but if you have the time it's quite versatile.
The cheap ones are obviously chyna, which I do have a couple. I also have an older tektronix one that is USA or maybe Japan significantly more expensive but that thing will last decades and has. The chyna special... Well the first one didn't even last the 30 day warranty period, but was replaced for free. |

![]() I called quick charger yesterday and ordered one. Just under $500 shipped. Should out last me.
I guess I'll start a thread on the Polaris lithium conversion. |

![]() I'm still using one I got from Hybrid Auto back in 2016. It charges at 17 amps. I adjusted the open circuit voltage down a bit so my batteries top out at about 95% charge.
