Since I never had a water heater without a bottom inlet I had to googly-it.
Thanks for furthering my education.

Last night after all these weeks a tiny piece of the dip tube showed up in the half baths sink aerator. Since it gets used the least is the reason ?

All 3 aerators have some bigger pieces of dip tube. I guess there was a large piece of it in the tank that didn't come apart with all the purges ?

Take the screens out of the aerators, but check the glass before you drink it.

A bunch of debris in the main bath's aerator. I was up in philli for several days. I guess the pieces settled during that time and now are stirred up. The other 2 were debris clear. But the main bath is by far the closest to the hot water tank.

When I had water problems on my boat I made a dip tube of solid copper and some soft tubing to make a siphon with the rigid into the tank, I could suck out the gunk without stirring things up? Drastic I know.

When I checked the dip tube initially there was only a stub maybe an inch long. I flushed and flushed and flushed until there was no debris, BUT I guess there is and was a BIG piece down in the tank that continues to break up. So I will just have to clean the aerators for a while longer. Of course if you just change out the tank there would not have this issue.
