![]() Hello,
I am installing a 48v lithium Cloudenergy battery. My cart is a standard 2016 RXV with no add ons. I have a standard 4 wire 12 v reducer that I bought, I’m having trouble understand what to connect to this reducer and what I am replacing. I included a pic of what I think is the stock reducer in the cart, but I’m not even sure if that’s what I’m looking at. Can someone tell me what I need to do? I’m struggling. I have looked through the older threads and must be too dense to figure it out in my own. I appreciate any help! |

![]() If that's a reducer then there's no need to change it. If your lights and/or other accessories work after the battery install, remove the large red wire from the battery or the fuse in the little black box on the red wire and see if they go out. No need to have multiple reducers.

![]() Thanks for the reply.
When I hooked everything back up the way it was, my motor clicks even though it is in tow mode, and I get no power. I was assuming it had something to do with the reducer. ps, I did install the blue wire from the old charging port to main positive n new batter is the only difference in wiring |

![]() Time to start tracing wires to see where they go. Having power in the tow mode is not good. Try disconnecting the blue wire and see what it does. I'm thinking the blue wire was the safety interlock for the original charger but I don't have a wiring schematic for your cart.

![]() I see you did an onboard charger. Did you hook the charge interlock wire from the old charger plug to the positive terminal?

![]() The 12 volt convertor has nothing to do with carts operation aside from supplying power to 12 volt accessories, lights, horn, ect. Leave it disconnected while trouble shooting no run problem.
Disregard it as part of the problem with power when tow switch off along with solenoid clickinking. Is battery fully charged? Voltage? No power should be going thru tow switch.in tow position. Switch can be checked with ohm meter If reed switch were the problem you would have no voltage to solenoid or clicking sound. So that not mostly a problem. Did run tow / run switch work before conversion ? As said time to start checking high voltage wirering starting at solenoid. |

![]() Sorry, I have nothing to add. I will be starting the same project in a week so just following for a troubleshooting help I might need.
I could also use some guidance from Capt. Lenny in my thread on which fuse box to use. No intent to highjack your thread, just looking for as much help as I/we can get |
