![]() Wondering if they make a Lithium Battery Meter that turns on automatically when you start driving your cart. My meter shuts off automatically but is manual button for on.

![]() The one with my epoch kit does, but it's paired with the battery through CAN bus.

![]() Yea. Talked to my battery manufacturer and they say the engineer is working on it. Not clear if it would require hardware or just a software update.

![]() Trouble is the built in battery meter in dash I have was for lead acid batteries. The built in one always says it 100% even when the meter that came with battery says 20%. Five LED type with one red, one yellow and 3 green LEDs.
I found an inexpensive meter that says it works with 48V Lith batteries and displays %. It automatically turns on. Going to try this. If it properly works with lith, I will put a relay circuit in. Weather has been bad here so My battery is still at 98 % for weeks. M PS - Has anyone found a 48v relay that has a 12v trigger that can be hooked to the carts 12v switched accessory???? |

![]() Plenty of them relays out there. Most do not advertise what voltages the contacts can handle but most of the time its the AMPS that kill the contacts not really the voltage. So most quality 12v relays would have no issues switching a 48v load using a 12v coil (trigger)

![]() Either get a real coulomb counter shunt meter or just a voltmeter and look at a SOC chart.
I don't think there is much in between that really works, IMO |

![]() Ok. The battery came with a meter but it does not turn on when the battery starts to discharge. I does turn off automatically. Of course the battery folks said that they are working on that when I bought it and they could update the BMS firmware. Now they are saying it takes a physical change in the BMS. My wife never turns on the meter because it is such a hassle. Our cart has an electric brake and when the pack goes below ~30% it locks up. Not cool when you are going down the road at 30 + MPH. Don't ask...
I was hoping for an inexpensive solution. Guess I will just use the speedo trip counter and charge when it gets to 40 miles. Thank You all M |
