Default 23” tires rxv 235 controller

I know there are concerns about running 23” tires with the stock Curtis 235A rxv controller, but some say run til failure and then upgrade. Any thoughts on how long “run” til failure would be? Are we guessing, which I know this is complete speculation, one ride up a hill? 2 months? 2 years?
People are running the navitas controllers with 23” tires and they are supposedly rated less than the stock Curtis if the ratings were done the same. If that’s the case, shouldn’t we expect the stock Curtis to last as long as the navitas 600A?

Just wondering what thoughts are and if anyone has experience running the 23” tires with stock controller.

Edit: the lithium forum may be the wrong place for this, but the one I am considering it with has a 105ah pack in it.
Thanks!

The controller won't just explode or anything like that. It will just be maxed out on torque (amps) more often because of the larger tires. It will self protect by dialing back the torque automatically when it heats up, the result is the speed will be greatly reduced going up hills.

So it's going to last years until some mosfet dies, more likely you will get frustrated that it slows down on that particular hill, and you decide to upgrade for higher torque.

Depending on how hilly you are talking about, you will probably go through solenoids before controller failure.
If you are on flat terrain, the controller will last a long time.
