It's confusing because the signal pin on the charger plug does not get passed directly to the controller. It essentially gets inverted.

You need + on the charger plug, then when you plug into the cart receptacle, the interlock signal that goes to the controller changes from + to ground. The controller then sees the charger connected.

If you don't connect the signal pin on the charger plug to +, or misconnect it to ground, when you plug into the cart, the interlock signal stays + and controller doesn't know you've plugged in a charger.

Does that make sense?

The black lead above seems to have a resistor or something with a ring termination integral to it for the B(-) stud. The ring terminal is falling off, virtually useless. Does anyone know what that black rectangular box is on the end of the lead? If its a resister anyone know the spec? It's not in a wire diagram so graciously supplied by a member when I asked about the extra unused plug on my dash. (SOC gauge my fleet model lacks)

I want to release the E-brake on this cart so I can roll it. Im hoping a Dewalt 18V battery will suffice, it should. But I want to have all the connections right either way to install the battery bank I'm building.
I think I know what you mean by black box, it's on the grey wire right? Maybe put a photo so we are on the same page.

Leave it to ezgo to complicate things. Thanks

Looking into purchasing a rvx with a lithium conversion. Should I be concerned? Seems like rvx have issues with lithium if not done properly?

All depends who did the conversion. A bonehead can screw anything up, even a simple oil change... Or lack there of!

Figure out what battery they put in and get the specs. If they put a sh"t battery in, it's not worth paying extra for.

It's a roypow. As far as who did install? No clue. It drove fine down hill at 100% battery, also went up a steep hill with no issues. I'm just concerned about the ebrake issue and bms though. I drove it hard, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary

My bad. Looked at it at night.

Yes. Gray wire has the black box. Likely a temp sensor.

Would like to cut it off and put in line a fresh one.

Anyone have a lead for this?

My ring termination off the temp sensor is corroded badly.

Correction:

The gray lead above seems to have what I've been told is a temperature sensor with a ring termination integral to it for the B(+) stud. The ring terminal is falling off on mine, virtually useless.

Does anyone know of a suitable aftermarket temp sensor I can splice in with a fresh ring terminal on it?

Thanks in advance.

I would just recrimp the ring terminal. I don't see how a temp sensor (or other component) serves a function in parallel with the B+ charge wire, especially when you replace the OEM charger with an aftermarket lithium one. So that said, how about leave grey wire disconnected and let us know what happens?

I have a feeling the ring terminal isn’t drawing power off B+, rather in contact with it to measure its temperature.

The “gray wire” isn’t. It’s sheathing over a red and black apparently.

KGSC says it’s strictly for the charger. Since this is a lithium project, it’s not needed, nor used.
