![]() Hi, every one! Just recently bought a pair of carryall 2's for general purposes around our property. I have lithium battery's on the way but need to decide on what to do with the suspension. They will primarily be used on gravel roads of varying condition with some light use in the fields and on dirt. I tossed one of my batteries from my solar set up in the bed to test them (they came with none) and first impressions where I definitely need to make some improvements. Very harsh and darty.
Since my carryall has factory front brakes I understand my options are limited, lifts I know about are Jakes spindle lift Jakes lt Steeleng has a 6" a arm listed for front brakes Basic 1" block I have an email into allsports to see if they offer anything Now onto the qestions Does anyone know of any option I've missed ? How much does converting to a arm suspension help ride/handling ? Is it possible to weld the brake bracket to a standard spindle or are the spindle themselves different? Thanks for any help, crsracing |

![]() Jake’s is really about it for the front brakes. You could take the new spindles to a machine shop and have them weld on the backing plate brackets and retain the brakes.

![]() I can weld the bracket on myself no problem, but I would want to know the spindle is the same minus the bracket before I attempted it.

![]() Measure the diameter of spindle first. depending on the roller bearings or sealed. I bout an all sports with the intent of doing the same but when it was delivered they shipped the (newer) larger spindle which would require a different bearing. Not that I couldn’t measure twice and order once, it was not really necessary. When I get tired of what I have I’ll upgrade the rear to disc.

![]() I ended up ordering a pair of allsports long travel kits from revolution. Had originally order jakes after emailing about availability, they said about 6 weeks. Couple days later they canceled my order with no real explanation. I emailed to find out more and they basically said check back in March to see what we have, so I decided to check elsewhere lol. Once I get the allsports kits I will take a good look if the brake swap/modification is possible. Worst case scenario I can run without the front brakes. Is there a proper place to put a build thread ? If anyone is even interested.

![]() Good choice, stinks they canceled it on you though. As far as the forum, take your choice, club car, members, or lifted sections. Any of them would be good.
