There ya go! A little paint, a little sand, you'll be set!

Then again, if your painting the frame, why put any particulate in it? I had the swimstep on my boat done with Linex & no particulate. Turned out like orange peeled paint. Tough as nails & still fairly smooth like paint.

BTW, the Herculiner is available at numerous hardware stores for a lot less than $140. Ace lists a quart for $26 & the whole kit for $75. Not sure if that includes the colors or just black. I bought it at Home Depot several years ago for around that too.

Well, here we go again. I called duplicolor and while they revealed to me on the first call that it was enamel based, they did not recommend mixing it. I was calling about how it old lay on top of POR 15, and they do not support spraying Berliner over anything but a truck bed, no primer or anything. I may just rebel and do it anyways because I know the rock crawler crowd has restored many rusty old blazers and used the same products. More research required.

Called POR 15. They told me that it is common to put Berliner over POR15, a lot of restorers of 4x4's especially do this. Even recommended that the bed liner be sprayed before the POR15 has been cured, usually between 2-6 hours after application. Wait until there is a light finger drag and pray on for best adhesion. Sold. I'll be buying the dupli color and experimenting with adding white, and will try on a test surface first of course. Got plenty of unused metal laying around to try it.
