Default Harley Cart

Howdy gents! New here and calling from LArgo Florida.

I just found a harley gas cart. Serial # 5K 10445 J2. Got her torn down for paint and a new saddle so started the mechanics of it.
Runs good in forward, no reverve. I have several wires unattached.
A bit confused, does this gas motor and clutch run backwards?
Is that anoyying buzzer just that when the key is turned to reverse?

I know this isn't much but I need a start. How dfoes this work?

Welcome!!
Yes, the engine runs backward for reverse. The buzzer is just for reverse.

The key will change the direction of the starter motor which
makes the engine fire in the opposite direction.

Strange system, figures Harley would use it.
I tried taking that leg out of the switch and using another just for reverse. Worked when jumped but not when wired in as it appears the factory sw. has a cutout just for reverse.
Just ordered a new one.
I also took out the oil injector and went to mix. Never trusted them anyway.

It will probly run better and be more consistant. Try some full synthetic. You can run a leaner fuel/oil ratio with a full synthetic.
