Default Mikuni

Has anyone successfully put a mikuni or other bike carb on a Honda gx620? Really just curious about the size. I can’t seem to find much info on the subject other than on the smaller engines. Thanks.

I haven't done a Honda but I did a Briggs Vanguard 23hp. I started with a 42mm CV Mikuni, excellent top end power and idle quality, but flooded. The 34mm VM Mikuni was much better and was a great performer. A 30mm would be perfect for all around driving. A Honda would react very similarly as far as sizing goes.

Thanks for the reply. That makes me feel better about dropping money on something that I wasn’t sure would work. With the little info that I could find I was leaning towards a 28mm, based strictly on the size of the hole in the intake. I have a knockoff 26mm that someone gave me but worried about using that if I can’t find jets for it.

I've tried knock off carbs, not much luck. While they did run, the quality of idle and response to adjustment was poor. Stick with a genuine Mikuni and do it once.
