Default summit II

My summit II is on the way. It should be here tomorrow. Ive been doing a little research on on board mounting. Is it possible just to find a mounting spot and hook it up direct to the batteries and not bypass the OBC on my 48V 2009 Precedent? Or is bypassing the OBC the way to go.

Bypass the obc. The summit 2 is a smart charger and will do all its own regulations/starting/stopping/maintaining

It's possible, yes. But there's no real reason to still have the OBC hooked up. Plus after a while if the OBC doesn't get plugged into the Powerdrive charger it will go into lockout and the cart won't drive without resetting the OBC.

Did You order the Summit with the round 3-pin plug or the loose wires to mount on-board?

Remember that You also need to use the app to verify/switch the Summit to On-board or Off-board mode.

If you use it off-board the OB has to by bypassed for the S2 to work.

Got the charger. I ordered it with the plug so not going onboard. The charger had me concerned at first. No Bluetooth. Then I read the directions must be hooked to a dc source.
I fought with the app for a bit but finally got the correct profile loaded. Working good so far.
