One major SNAFU for me and quite the surprise... they only do inspections Mon, Tues, or Wed from 9am-1pm or so! Can't get away from work on those days. Has it always been that way for you guys in West Palm Beach?
I guess my only solution is to get it inspected in a different county...anyone get their cart inspected in south florida other than Palm Beach county?

You can give a POA to someone you trust and let them take the cart for you

I did mine last year and it seems I didnt have the issues you guys are having, I had mine weighed, inspected, insured and titled/tagged same 8 hour period. Of course after building cart for 5 months and waiting on the appointment 3 weeks. Have they (DMV) gotten more strict or just overwhelmed ? mike

I've been researching this and reading all these posts. This is what I found on the DMV website. Looks pretty simple! We'll see!

GOLF CARTS CONVERTED TO LOW-SPEED VEHICLES

NHTSA allows for a golf cart to be converted to a low-speed vehicle. Once the vehicle has been converted, the customer must submit the following to a DMV Regional Office:

Proof of ownership for the golf cart (MCO or bill of sale)
A statement of builder (form HSMV 84490)
The original bills of sale for all parts (used to convert the golf cart)
An application for title (form HSMV 82040)

The compliance examiner will review the paperwork and inspect the vehicle. If the vehicle passes inspection and the documentation is in order, an FLA number will be assigned to the vehicle and the paper work will be processed.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact your Tax Collector Help Desk.

Just finally got my cart legal in Florida today after months of hurdles! In the end it cost just under $500 to get it inspected, create a title, and get it registered with a custom tag.

The hardest part about all this for me was that the regional DMV for my county(Collier) is up in Palmetto. Not only was it a pain to drive up there but nobody in that office really seemed very knowledgeable about this subject at all.

If anyone has any questions about the process or anything feel free to ask me. It's one of those things where you do it once and it's a pain in the *** but after that it's simple.

The hardest part of the process was finding REAL insurance, be careful and read your policy, only one that would write a "street legal" policy was Allstate. Mine turned out to be $236 for six months w/ comp, coll, uninsured motorist, and PIP.

I had no problem with insurance. USAA knew exactly how to set it up for me.
