Default Patching a hole in the crankcase.

I have a 1997 club car gas ds model and a rock hit the crankcase and busted a hole in the bottom of it. I was wondering if there was a way i could patch it with metal. But i wasnt sure if it was metal or aluminium. Also i dont really want to spend 500 dollars on a new crankcase.

Welcome...... well that is a quandry. Those cases are all over the place. But hard to imagine replacing a case with out a rebuild? the case is aluminum I believe it can be welded but, I'm not sure if it is a clean enough grade aluminum?

im getting a new high speed gear tomorow and i was thinking i could just take it all off then clean the case good and put the gear in then weld it. But im not sure if it would just be easyer to find a crankcase off a old golf cart somewhere
