Re: painting w/ spray gun????
Duplicolor makes a lacquer paint that is ready to put in the gun and spray, the clear is that way also,no mixing or adding of hardner or reducer. IN MY OPINION lacquer is a fairly easy product to work with and fairly durable also. Fast drying also,so flash time between coats is very fast. Get plenty of build with the clear and then you can wet sand and buff to perfection. Try it, what is the worst that can happen? If you don't like it reprimer it black and call it good. It is available in white, gray, red, orange, yellow, black, blue, white or silver and at my parts store it is $20.00 quart. GOOD LUCK

Re: painting w/ spray gun????
Auto paint needs reducer, I go by ounces when you read the back of the can they call it a part which is ounces to make it easy. So I go one ounce paint one ounce reducer, just make sure you strain the paint before putting it in the gun. Most clear is 1 to 4 ratio which means one ounce activator and four ounces urathane clear. Make sure its strained before you put in gun, if you are going to use any ice pearl add that to the clear never the base coat and I think you said you have a top feed gun which is a HVLP gravity fed gun. Anytime you use ice pearl you need marbles drop a few in the cup so you can shake it to keep the pearl moving if not the pearl will all go out first and it will be very uneven lots of the pearl will be in various spots and look like crap. PS you might get away with spraying the basecoat outside but if you try to clear it outside the bugs will swarm right too it there is something in the clear the bugs like and once that happens your through!!!!! nevver clear unless you have a encloser of some sort like a tent. I use Matrix paint and pro spray good stuff and not too expensive. You can use HOK but no need very expensive and you can do the same with cheaper paint.

Re: painting w/ spray gun????
Never had a problem with overspray, just make sure if you are going to paint outside in a tent of some sort you wet the ground surface to keep down the dust!!!

Re: painting w/ spray gun????
The dupli color does not need reducer or other additives, that is the beauty of it for the first time painter. Not the best product I am sure but easy to use. Be sure to use a water seperator at the gun.
