g5 large hole in crankcase
Bought a G5 Yamaha (possibly a 97)? Has 4 stroke 1 cyl engine.
put oil in and it all ran out on the floor. Took the belly pan off and there is a broken plastic plate with 2 bolts next to the drain plug. All Yamaha dealers closed today so cant call them to ask. crankcase Fiche only shows the hole, not the part that goes into it. Does anyone know what that plastic thing is and can I just plug that hole or is it some type of sensor? |

Re: g5 large hole in crankcase
Seems like a 90-95 year range for the G5. Do you have a pic of the underside?

Re: g5 large hole in crankcase
The broken peice is the oil level sensor. (Or hole blocker plug on models not equipped with sensor).
