It may be newer than you think. Believe it or not HD used a steering wheel before they used tiller style steering. (as far as I can tell) Post the Serial numbers and any other numbers and someone can run them for you.

Did that number come from a tin tag mounted on the upper frame rail on the right or left side near the rear wheel? It could be a 71 but the other numbers don't make sense.

70's model will start with H and 80's will start with J...60's are not the same.

Aah..Ok. Nice bit of info there. Thanks for sharing that. HD numbers are a pain in the rear sometimes. But what doesn't make sense to me is it has tiller steering. I may be wrong about that but I will check around about to see when they made those changes to steering.

3b= Model D3....J2=82 model.
Which one has tiller and which one has a steering wheel? Or do they both have tiller?

Now I'm really confused...I just looked at a 68 and it has a steering wheel and then an 76 with a wheel. Then an 80 with a tiller...Anyways, sorry to get off topic.
